Im a high school sophomore and I'm trying to figure out what more I can do to get accepted into the top universities in the US. Right now I have a 4.73 GPA, Im on varsity cross-country, and I participate in a service league for volunteer hours. However, i took the PSAT and my scores were pretty low compared to that of my friends because I'm a slow reader and i didn't get to read 21 questions in the time given and i had to leave them omitted. So I'm wondering what I can do in order to either improve my test scores or find a way to make up for it in case I don't do as well as i planned. The colleges I'm aiming for include Berkeley, stanford, UCLA, Harvard, USC, and UCSB. I've heard that it takes more than just a good GPA and a sport to get into these schools which is why I'm asking these questions. If you've had any experience applying or attending one of these schools or just general knowledge about applying for tough schools then I'd love to hear from you.
