Voting Question: What are my chances at UC Berkeley and Stanford?

UCB & Stanford are literally the only colleges my parents are allowing me apply to, due to their high expectations. I honestly know I barely stand a chance at the moment. I'm currently a sophomore, and my grades are just "average", as in the 3.0-3.4 range. I've had problems earlier this school year which caused me to fall behind. I'm currently taking a useless AP art class which is bringing down my GPA, since I can't drop the class and I'm horrible at art. I'm planning on taking two next year since my school is limited on AP courses. I'm trying to get a 4.0+ next year. I'm also prepping myself for the SAT. My practice score was a 2200. I'm hoping for a higher score when I retake it later this year. And just some ECs: Drama/Theater School Newspaper Red Cross Peer Tutor 200+ Volunteering hours (probably more within the next 2 years) I don't play any sports, though.. My question is, would it still be possible to get into UCB or Stanford if I messed up on my sophomore year, but pick myself up junior and senior year? I'm in-state, if that helps.... Read More »
